Orphanage Projects

<Back

There are some projects that the orphanage would like to fund in order to increase the children's creativity and give them a chance to face life in a better way.

These projects include:
  • A New Larger Facility
  • A Vocational School and a Library
New Larger Facility:
Most importantly the orphanage needs to construct a larger facility to accomodate the increasing number of children who come to them for help. There are many other children who have no place to go that the orphanage would like give a chance for a better life.

The facility the orphanage has now is only meant to hold 40 children, and the orphanage has over 100.  The orphanage now has 39 bunk beds and 12 cribs.  Some of the toddlers sleep two to a bed, and there are not enough closets for each girl.  Also, they cannot accept any more orphans, and it is difficult to say no to a child in need when they would like to save them all.

The orphanage has plans for a facility with a capacity of 485 children.  They now have 20+ girls sleeping in one room.  The new facility will only have two bunk beds per room which will give the girls more privacy and personal space. With your help, the orphanage will not only be saving children from abuse, death, or life on the streets by giving them food, shelter, and love; they will also provide them with educational and career opportunities.

Vocational School:
The orphanage has just completed a new vocational school where they will teach Computer Skills, English, Ceramics, Textiles and other trades.

There are 4 Classrooms in total which can be used for multiple classes.
The orphanage now needs sponsors to help pay for teachers and materials.

Food, shelter, and loving care is provided by a dedicated staff at the Orfanato Niños De cristo but the orphanage has limited on-going financial support. The Dominican Government has limited funding for orphanages and only provides the orphanage a total of only $900 per month for over 120 children.
